With a Bachelor's degree in Performing Arts and Education, Kathryn has helped thousands of children and teens become a more confident version of themselves. As a business owner and director, she operated her Theater Arts school,Express Yourself Academy, in Los Angeles for ten years and in Minneapolis for 20. She created a multi-media program called KIDS SHINE ON! and taught English and public speaking at the University of Texas in Austin.
At 41, Hume learned she was visually impaired with retinitis pigmentosa. (RP is a retinal disease that causes night and peripheral blindness.) She stopped driving after her kids were grown and relocated to Austin, TX in 2006. After a near-fatal accident in 2015, Kathryn moved closer to family in Kansas City.
Kathryn's acting career includes TV, improvisation, stand-up comedy and stage shows like Jesus Christ Superstar, The Laramie Project and The Fantastics, to name a few. Her comedic character, Sister Katrina Jeana, has performed at comedy clubs, business conventions, women's retreats, dinner theaters, a women's prison and The Multiple Sclerosis Society.
